I got the Windows Phone 8 emulator to work under Parallels. But the virtual machine crashes a couple of minutes right after the phone emulator starts. Apple should release a fix for this situation. The crash I get when using Parallels is the Windows VM rebooting from nowhere a few minutes right after the emulator starts. But I have good news!!! For all those desperate out there like I was.

I found a workaround that enables emulator working on bootcamp!!!!! It proves that the problem is in Bootcamp.

Apple should fix this ASAP! Here is what you should do: 1 - Boot into Mac OS. 2 - Go into settings and bootcamp start up drive 3 - Click on restart with the Windows selected 4 - Open Visual Studio and run the emulator without any issues!!!

You have to do this everytime you want to be able to load the emulator. If you shut down the computer and start directlty to Windows the 'hypervisor is not running' error message will show up.
