Tab Won't Change Outline Level For Word Mac
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Hi, A couple months ago, my tab button stopped indenting in Word when I use an outline and want to go from a 'I.' I've dealt with just clicking on the 'indent' button on the formatting palatte, but it is just getting way too frustrating to do. Any ideas on what happened ('tab' and 'shift-tab' was working fine when I first got the computer) and also how to correct it. Delete passwords for a pdf preview app mac.
To set font: 1. Click on the Home tab. In the Font group, click the down arrow to the right of the font menu (the default font type is Calibri). Select Times New Roman. Click the down arrow to the right of the font size menu (the default font size is 11). Hit Tab to indent the bullet-point to the next level In the past, step three would work. However, now, it just adds a tab (white space), and I have to actually click the increase-indentation button in order to move that bullet-point to the next level. Under WordArt Tools, on the Format tab, in the WordArt Styles group, click Shape Outline, and then do one of the following: To add or change an outline color, click the color that you want. To choose no color, click No Outline. Nerd News After I finished typing “A. 404 Tech Support” I would hit enter and that gives me “B.”. I would then hit Tab and it should change the “B.” to “1.”. Instead, to my frustration, it just tabbed over 5 spaces in front of “B.”. You can change the list level directly by clicking the down arrow next to the ordered or unordered list buttons on the Home tab and going down to “Change list level” where you select the level you’d like it to be. Buried deep in the settings, there is an option that will allow the Tab key to work as expected.
I’m not sure how it got switched off but it seems AutoFormat might prompt the setting to be changed at some point. You’ll find the setting if you click on the Office button inside of Word (top-left corner) and then go down to Word Options. From the window that pops up, click ‘Proofing’ on the left side. Under the AutoCorrect options click the Change how Word corrects and formats text as you type: “AutoCorrect Options” button. Another window will pop up. On the AutoCorrect Options window, select the AutoFormat As You Type tab (note there are two different tabs “AutoFormat” and “AutoFormat As You Type”). Near the bottom, check the second to the last box “Set left- and first-indent with tabs and backspaces” and hit the Ok button.
